The East Riding of Yorkshire, or simply East Riding, is a ceremonial county of England. It is located in the region of Yorkshire and the Humber, and has a population of around 335,000.
The landscape consists of a crescent of low chalk hills, the Yorkshire Wolds, surrounded by the low-lying fertile plains of Holderness and the Vale of York.
