Bradford is a city in West Yorkshire, England, in the foothills of the Pennines about nine miles west of Leeds, and 16 miles northwest of Wakefield. Bradford received its charter as a city in 1897. Following local government reform in 1974, city status was bestowed upon the wider metropolitan borough. The city forms part of the West Yorkshire Urban Area conurbation which in 2001 had a population of 1.5 million and is the fourth largest urban area in the United Kingdom.
Historically, Bradford was a part of the West Riding of Yorkshire and rose to prominence during the 19th century as an international centre of textile manufacture, particularly wool. It was one of the boomtowns of the Industrial Revolution, and amongst the earliest industrialised settlements, rapidly becoming the "wool capital of the world". The area's access to a supply of coal, iron ore and soft water facilitated the growth of Bradford's manufacturing base, which, as textile manufacture grew, led to an explosion in population and was a stimulus to civic investment; Bradford has a large amount of listed Victorian architecture including the grand Italianate City Hall.
The textile sector in Bradford fell into decline from the mid-20th century. Since this time, Bradford has emerged as a tourist destination, becoming the first UNESCO City of Film with attractions such as the National Media Museum, Bradford City Park, the Alhambra theatre and Cartwright Hall. However, Bradford has faced similar challenges to the rest of the post-industrial area of Northern England, including deindustrialisation, social unrest and economic deprivation.
However, it's not as grim up north as some would have you believe. Our drivers are out in Bradford often, delivering to events, parties and weddings full of joy and celebration. Some of the products we deliver include:
Weddings are supposed to be all about the happy couple on the best day of their lives. Wedding days are meant to be remembered for all the right reasons – such as the blushing bride, the handsome groom, the elegant setting and the delicious food. What really shouldn’t happen is for a wedding to be ruined by ripped table linen, dirty plates or there not being enough glasses to go around.
It’s commonplace these days for couples-to-be to want to take complete control of their wedding planning and costs. Our vision is to offer our customers a one-stop shop for everything from crockery to linen, and cutlery to furniture. All of our prices are available online, so that it’s easy to work out just how much the wedding hire you need will cost without having to go backwards and forwards getting quotes.
The cup, plate and bowl are among some of the simplest items that we hire out most at White Rose Catering and Event Hire. They’re not the most exciting items we have in stock but they’re an important part of many kinds of events and occasions.
We have crockery in various different shapes and sizes to match differing styles of events and occasions. Just as importantly, we have a huge quantity of crockery available in stock to ensure that we can meet demands for even the biggest events and weddings without a struggle. That being said, we do recommend that for bigger events that orders are placed with plenty of notice to ensure that they can be picked in time to be delivered.
If washing up just isn’t your thing, you don’t need to worry. Our “send it back dirty” service means all you have to do once your event is over is to scrape the crockery clean of any food debris, put it back into the packing crates that it was delivered in and we will clean them back at our warehouse.
Whether it’s a party, a celebration or a huge blowout meal, getting an event right comes down to good planning. With the right glass hire it can be easy to make your event sparkle.
If you’re raising a glass to success it’s hard to go wrong with our Saxon Savoie champagne flutes. Like all of our glass hire, our flutes are all individually checked and cleaned before being packed in our special packing crates prior to delivery to you.
We have a huge selection of glasses for hire available so if it’s 50 or 500 guests drinking wine, cocktails or even beer we’re bound to have what you need.
